When we feel like all hope is lost it’s importan

My heart is full. I have all that I need and so mu

My heart is full. I have all that I need and so much more. We have so much to be thankful for.

I’m looking forward to soaking & savoring the next few weeks, as the Christmas season approaches. We get to choose whether to get caught up in the holiday hustle or joy and peace.

For some, it may even be a particularly difficult season, so I encourage you to slow down, put your trust in God, and allow the true meaning of Christmas into your heart.

Excerpt from Journey to Christmas:

The weeks leading up to December 25th are full of expectation and anticipation. There’s so much to do to prepare, as we excitedly anticipate Christmas morning. When Christmas morning finally arrives, the kids can hardly contain themselves. They’re filled with so much joy and emotions of what gifts might be waiting for them. They wake up early and race down the hallway to see if Santa really came!

I imagine this is how God wants us to feel about Him and all that He does and has done and will do for us. That feeling of expectation and anticipation is the same feeling we should get as we anxiously wait to hear from God when we have quietly prayed for help, guidance, and answers to the trials of life. We expect Him to come through because He has promised that He would, and because He has before.

I don’t think I express it enough - the gratitud

I don’t think I express it enough - the gratitude and appreciation that I have for this guy - my husband, my best friend, my life partner, my soulmate. I know we can often drive each other crazy, but he is the one I run to, I confide in, that laughs at all my jokes, even the really bad ones. He has a drive that no one else I know has; he works endlessly to make sure the kids and I are taken care of, he sacrifices his own comfort to give us everything. I thank God for this man. I don’t know what I did to deserve this guy, but I can’t imagine my life without him. Not only does he work hard, but he is good. He is kind. He is thoughtful. He is the best gift-giver. He is silly. He is skilled. He is smart.

This is my thanksgiving post. I’m thankful for my husband that God gave me. He knew what I needed when I was 21 and brought us together, and held us together all these years.

I can easily say I’m grateful for all the good, but only because we stuck through the hard, letting God lead us. We thank God each day for the lessons learned in the difficult days, and the abundant blessings on the good days. It’s all part of the journey and I couldn’t be more grateful to have this man by my side through it all.
