Focus on the Positive

Finally, brothers & sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)

With so much negativity all around us, it’s important to focus on what’s good. It’s so easy to get sucked into the cycle of negativity. Remember, God is in control and he is always by your side!

Five Ways to Live Out Philippians 4:8

1. Replace the negative thoughts with a truth from the Scripture.

2. Celebrate the goods in your life (…if anything is excellent or praiseworthy)

3. Keep a daily gratitude journal.

4. Take action. Do something good.

5. Pray & trust God.

Stories of grace, hope, and redemption give us something to focus on, and help us to remember that God is always by our side. 

I challenge you to follow the steps above for the next 30 days and see how much a positive outlook can impact your world. Turn off the TV, close out the social media apps, and look for all the good that’s out there.

Beauty has so many forms, and I think the most beautiful thing is confidence and loving yourself.

They’re a costume for wealthy people who see work as ironic – not iconic.” Fair point. Really though we were also a bit offended that DSquared2 already.
