Beach Love

Thursday, July 4th, 2013

This girl loves the beach. It’s been a hot week, and brother is away at summer camp, so we took off in search of cooler weather on the coast and boy did we find it. It was so cold, but it’s hard to resist some fun in the sand and water.

Have a Happy Fourth of July!

Hello, Grasshopper-friend…

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013

We found the most tiniest little grasshopper while doing some yardwork yesterday. Brother’s away at camp, so she had him all to herself. I really think she’d be perfectly happy as an only-child.

Bye-bye Brother!

Monday, July 1st, 2013

We just dropped big brother off at camp and I’m pretty sure she’s esctatic about it! Now she gets a week of mommy and daddy all to herself.  It’s going to be such a quiet week.

Backyard Play – Santee Children’s Photographer

Saturday, March 30th, 2013

I find that I’m photographing my children less and less. I get busy and my camera goes untouched for days on end. So I’m trying to make an effort to just grab my camera and shoot no matter how the kids are dressed, what they are doing, or how uninspired I may feel. Usually, just the exercise of getting out and pressing the shutter gets my creative juices flowing. And the kids can hopefully look at the photos later and see that they did play and not just pose for mommy’s crazy photographic visions. Often, I use this as an opportunity to think outside the box. I don’t want to interrupt my kids’ playtime. My goal is to just capture photos of them doing their thing, as if there isn’t really a camera in their face. For this little impromptu shoot, I grabbed my 80-200 mm zoom lens so I could stay back a bit and really truly be right in their faces. There were a few moments I was tempted to run in the house and grab my nifty-fifty, but I didn’t want to lose the moment, so I just took what I could get. That meant, I ended up with some pretty interesting angles and perspectives. At one point, I was on top of the monkey bars, looking down at them.

Welcome Baby J – San Diego Newborn Photographer

Monday, March 11th, 2013

I just adore little tiny newborns, and baby J was enough to make my heart melt. She’s the first born to Gordon and Claire, and I can tell she’s already got her parents wrapped around her teeny tiny little fingers. How could they not be? She is just so precious! So, welcome to the world little baby J and congratulations, Gordon and Claire! I look forward to documenting your growing family in the years to come!
