A Camping We Did Go

Saturday, July 20th, 2013

A couple weekends ago we took the kids out for a weekend camping trip. The gigantic oak trees were beautiful, the weather was hot but lovely, and everyone enjoyed just being out in nature.

Beach Love

Thursday, July 4th, 2013

This girl loves the beach. It’s been a hot week, and brother is away at summer camp, so we took off in search of cooler weather on the coast and boy did we find it. It was so cold, but it’s hard to resist some fun in the sand and water.

Have a Happy Fourth of July!

Hello, Grasshopper-friend…

Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013

We found the most tiniest little grasshopper while doing some yardwork yesterday. Brother’s away at camp, so she had him all to herself. I really think she’d be perfectly happy as an only-child.

Bye-bye Brother!

Monday, July 1st, 2013

We just dropped big brother off at camp and I’m pretty sure she’s esctatic about it! Now she gets a week of mommy and daddy all to herself.  It’s going to be such a quiet week.

Letter to My Daughter

Monday, June 24th, 2013

You just turned a big huge FIVE years old! I can hardly believe it myself. Just five incredibly short years ago, I held you in my arms for the very first time.  When they placed you in my arms, you wrapped your tiny fingers around my index finger and with that you had my heart.

You are the most beautiful five year old girl I know. You’re full of a spunk and a spirit that will be your strength in this world. Never ever believe for one minute that you aren’t perfect in every way! Never ever believe that you are alone in this world! You’re not! You have mommy and daddy and big brother. And God! And now since you memorized Psalm 23, you will always remember that no matter what, He is there for you, to protect you and strengthen you.

I’m so proud of you and though my heart hurts to think about you starting Kindergarten in the Fall, I know you are more than ready to take on the world! You are smart and sweet and amazing.

You aren’t so much of a baby anymore, and although I wish that I could keep you small, I couldn’t do that to the world. The world needs you to make it a better place. You have a special brightness that you bring into the room, and that is something that is unique only to you!

Please don’t ever stop being you! You are perfect and wonderful just the way you are! You will always be my little love bug and daddy’s little girl. So I guess I give you permission to keep growing because I absolutely cannot wait to see how much more beautiful you will be when you are all grown up!
